The DPS Inventory Management (Consigned Material) was designed for capturing consigned material information as it is received by the manufacturer. The manufacturers’ part number is validated against an expected receipt list to ensure that only correct material is accepted, and then assigned a unique customer part number. The solution is also used to scan the material when it is being “Opened” by the customer so the status of the material is changed in their administrative data base. The solution then prints a new label to be applied on the material for visual inspection. The solution is also used for an annual inventory.
ROI: Replaced a paper tag system that was very difficult to maintain accuracy. The solution eliminated the customer receiving an incorrect material. The real-time data transfer provides administration with live visibility to what is being done on the manufacturing building. The solution also reduced the annual inventory from days to a few hours.
